Grand Junction Community Recreation Center

After multiple unsuccessful attempts the City of Grand Junction passed bond funding for a much needed community recreation facility. The 108.000 s.f. facility includes a six pool natatorium, 3 basketball court gymnasium, 3 group fitness rooms, fitness / cardio mezzanine, indoor/outdoor climbing walls, community events space, physical therapy tenant space, senior lounge and administrative offices. A generous community corridor provides space for circulation with activity nodes for social gathering and play culminating at the climbing wall. The building is sited to allow the community corridor to focus on the local geographic feature the Book Cliffs.

I served as the Project Manager for the project. Primary focus was on client program and design development through leading multi-day design work sessions. Developed fees and managed consultant and client invoicing.
